We Got It!
We are happy to announce the Village of Newberry has recieved a $250,000 award from the MI Department of Environmental Quality
to begin the brownfield redevelopment project. Grant eligible expenses will include asphalt paving of a trail and parking lot, concrete sidewalks and skatepark pad and topsoil covering in green spaces.

TARA is the project developer and is providing most of the cash match needed for grant opportunities. TARA also underwrites the professional services fees needed to get the project underway.
Video made by Tahquamenon Area Youth Hockey Association for the Pepsi Refresh Contest in Jan. 2011. We made an amazing showing placing in the top 6%
for a small town competing with national organizations and metropolitan areas.

More Good News!
It was recently announced the MI Natural Resources Trust Fund Board recommended that our project be funded. The $300,000 Award, if approved by the State Legislature and Governor next year, would fund site improvements and partially underwrite the synthetic ice sheet.
